I woke up with a cold that had started the day before. It had been a sad and bit stressful couple of weeks for the community on our base and I hadn't realized till the night before that I was late. I decided to take a pregnancy test before I took any cold medicine "just in case".
So with my sweet husband still sleeping I took a test and then walked in to the kitchen to start some coffee. Three minutes later I turned the test over and this picture above is what I saw. I was immediately so excited but quite a bit surprised because we weren't planning on a pregnancy till the end of the year.
All ideas of a cute way to tell Chris flew right out the window as I heard him get up and heard his toothbrush going so I walked in the bathroom with the test behind my back and waited for him to finish. As soon as he was done he turned and looked at me and said "What?" I know I was staring and must have had a weird look on my face. So I said "I need to tell you something and you can't be mad" (As a side note Chris is rarely if ever mad and I didn't really think he would be mad but I WAS anxious because this was not the plan, I should have realized he would never have been mad about a baby and that I am more the planner in our family.) He looked at me a bit crazy and said "okay?" I didn't actually "tell" him anything I just handed him the test.
He was happy of course and hugged me, we are so very excited about this blessing. The way this pregnancy surprised us is actually an answer to my prayers. I had been praying for the past few months that when the time came for us to have a baby that it would just happen and I wouldn't have time to stress or worry about us "trying" to have a baby. I am so grateful and a bit overwhelmed by God's Kindness to us. He has a plan so much bigger than anyone we would consider or concieve.
So now that the word is out I am hoping to share more of our journey thus far on here and as it continues, so stay tuned. :)

My Most Favorite
I am very very blessed to know a good amount of incredible people who have served and do serve in the Military. I owe each and everyone of them a debt of gratitude for their sacrifice and service. I like this definition.
Veteran: whether active duty, honorably discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.'
Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
This guy here he is my Favorite one, so proud and honored to be his wife.

One Year Ago...
He asked me to be his bride...

And 10 months ago....

It happened.
"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.”(Mark 10:7-9 ESV)
I thank God everyday for every day that has been a part of this last year, and every thing that God worked to bring us together. What a ride so far!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

To my wonderful husband,
I am so blessed and I hope that I remember everyday for the rest of my life how special and amazing it is that God worked everything to bring us together. I know that sounds cheesy and I am okay with that. There are so many things in this life that aren't sunshine and roses that when God gives us something that truly brightens our lives we need to be thankful daily for it.
I love birthdays. I love that there is a day to celebrate everyone, to celebrate what makes them unique and special!
So Happy Happy Birthday Chris!

Happy Valentines Day 2011!

:) A fun edited picture of me & my valentine.
I hope everyone is enjoying a day being reminded of all those you love and most importantly that God has shown us His love in immense and undeserved ways. It is incredibly humbling to recognize how much unmerited favor is on my life and has been for so long. We serve an amazing God.
Much love XOXO :)

Quote (Husband)

I would say that the surest measure of a man's or a woman's maturity is the harmony, style, joy, and dignity he creates in his marriage, and the pleasure and inspiration he provides for his spouse.
-- Benjamin McLane Spock
Read this quote and feel like it expresses the preciousness of my husband, I am amazed and blessed everyday that God has called me to be his wife. He is a daily inspiration to me.

It's Official...
We have moved... been in process for the past few weeks but the "big" move happened on Saturday (all our big furniture made it to the new house).
Now we are down to cleaning the old apartment and getting settled into "our" house which I am sure will take a bit of time, probably much longer than I would like!
Here it is, I especially like our kitchen and bigger master bedroom. It is so exciting to have our first house!

New Kitchen YAY!

And this... which led to the our first pet purchase

Picture of which to come :D Any Guesses?
***These are the realtor site photos so I will have to take some with "our" stuff in here once we get settled a bit more.

Veterans Day 2010
We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.
~Cynthia Ozick
I am very thankful for all the people who have served and are serving, those who have chosen to defend our country. I am especially grateful for my veteran, and the veterans in my family. Hug a veteran today, may they all feel gratitude and honor from all who benefit from the work they have done and continue to do.
Please take a moment and say a prayer and thank God for them.

YAYAYAYAY
I am a little excited!!! (Understatement!) I get to go to the airport in just a few hours and pick up my awesome husband who has been away for the past 28 days. Can't wait to hug him and see his handsome face.
Okay a little mushy I know but I really am so excited for him to be home. I used the time he was away to organize and I am also excited about how our apartment looks, AND the weather this morning was SO great! Love those first feelings of fall in the air.
So to sum it up I'M SO EXCITED... (can't you hear me singing)
And just for kicks here's a pic from the honeymoon since I haven't shared any yet.

Memorial Day
So thankful for this past Memorial Day and so much more for what it means!
I love my military guy and I am amazed that He and so many others sacrifice so much for our freedoms that we can so easily take for granted everyday. I saw online that it is military appreciation week, I hope everyone takes a moment to tell those military members you know that we are so grateful for them and all they do.

1 MONTH!!!!
So crazy that it is 1 month since we got engaged AND 1 month till we get married. I am so excited!!!
Planning has been going really well, I am amazed at how so many things have just fallen into place and so blessed by how supportive so many have been about the shortness of our engagement.
Honestly, I am so amazed at how God's hand has been on every aspect of this!
So many things are checked off the checklist and I really don't feel stressed about things just excited and ready for it to get here.
So here are a list of things that are done!
